A family business, the Straw Donkey has been serving up good food and good times for five years in Puerto de la Duquesa.

When we first opened, the menu consisted of carrot cake and pea soup. Today we have a large and diverse selection of items to choose from, with something for everyone.

Serving our excellent breakfasts and coffees from 7am every day, the Straw Donkey is the choice for all who rise early to work or play near Duquesa, with golfers, local folks and holidaymakers making us their first stop of the day. Lunches and daytime fare have long been the mainstay, with the emphasis on homemade goodness and fresh ingredients.

In our new, larger premises, we are branching out into evening fare. You can expect the same levels of service and food quality in our new location.

The new location? If you can find Duquesa port, you can find the Straw Donkey Roadhouse. (with a bit of looking.) It is up, around the back, beside our friends at Ornatus furniture shop. It sort of faces toward Gibraltar, on the top level of the port.
